Michigan adoptions only. Local pickup only, no shipping. History: Sherman is a male Savannah Monitor that has recently come to stay at the World of Discovery. After being checked for parasites and given a clean bill of health, Sherman will be available for adoption. Special needs: Sherman has cataracts in both eyes, and will need some special care while feeding. In Captivity: Like green iguanas, monitor lizards are not a pet for everyone. Sherman will require a minimum 4’D x 7L x 6’ tall enclosure, he needs a 120-130 degree basking spot with two to three mercury vapor bulbs providing UVB, 70 % humidity, and an 80 degree ambient temperature. He should also have a varied invertebrate diet (crickets, grasshoppers, superworms, snails, crayfish, eggs, cockroaches) with calcium and vitamin supplements. Husbandry training will be available and required before adopting Sherman. An adoption agreement and adoption fee of $25 will be required to adopt Sherman.
