Sugar Springs Swimming Pool

The new pool and locker rooms opened in April, 2012. Using the latest pool technology approved by the state of Michigan, it uses a salt generator and a UV generator to provide a pool environment that is much less irritating than traditional chlorine pools. Salt content is regulated by the system automatically. The water is not salty like when you swim in the ocean. It does not feel or taste salty. In fact, there is less salt content than in a tear. The role of the salt is to work inconjuntion with the UV to create very low levels of chlorine for sanitary purposes. The net result is a pool environment that is much less irritating to your body and lungs than traditional chlorine pools.
