Pit Bull Terrier - Olivia - Medium - Young - Female - Dog
Some kids found Olivia wandering the streets of Detroit last summer, thin and crawling with fleas. She had a collar, but it had been on since puppyhood and was very tight. She'd been dumped--left to fend for herself. She wasn't doing very well.
We scooped her up, got rid of those fleas and gave her a bath. She was so grateful to be safe and fed again, she couldn't stop wagging her tail. She's very affectionate and smart and tags along behind her human, looking for more love. Over the winter, she's become the perfect dog. She's house and crate trained. She's learned to get along with the other dogs in her pack, although she does have her favorite pals. She doesn't bother the cat.
As she healed, Olivia filled out. The bald patches disappeared from her beautiful blue and white coat. She learned manners. We discovered that she can sail over fences on a whim, but she doesn't go anywhere. She's been out in the big, bad world. She prefers to stay around home.
Olivia would prefer a home where she is the only dog. She likes to keep her beloved humans all to herself. Because of her energy and escape capability, she'd do best walking or running on a leash with her family to get her exercise. She's spayed, microchipped and vaccinated. She's grown into the perfect dog. Now all she needs is a family to love!
To help Olivia get acclimated to her new home, the adoption fee includes 1 complimentary training session with the rescue’s trainer.
