Pit Bull Terrier - Jigsaw - Large - Adult - Female - Dog
A year ago, someone called us about a young black and white pitbull. She'd been scooped up for free on Craig's List and was being used by a man to guard the backyard of a vacant house. She was living in an abandoned car and the neighbors had taken pity and were feeding her. Even though she was thin and cold, she was friendly and the neighbors thought she deserved better. So did we.
We named her Jigsaw because of the bold patches of black and white on her coat. When she first arrived, she was so used to the winter weather that she preferred to stay outdoors. She was aggressive with other animals, too, especially at the fence, so we kept her separate from our pack. But gradually, over the months, she remembered how pleasant a house was, and how fun it was to live with people and other dogs (if she'd ever known it). She's now domesticated, crate trained and a great buddy to her doggie friends.
Jiggy has a lot of energy and she needs regular exercise. She would do best in a home with someone who would walk her on a regular basis. She'd also do better with a youngish male dog as a companion. She's rather dominant and may challenge another young female. She's incredibly loving to her people. She likes nothing better than to jump on your lap and get a hug. She'll give you a hug back, too! Always bright and cheery, running around alert to everything, she's a real live wire!
Jiggy's been with us a year. She isn't looking for a new home--she's happy with her foster 'pack'. But we think she'd do even better in a home where she's not just one in a dozen. She has so many hugs to give, so much love and loyalty to dish out, that we don't want to keep her to ourselves. She's ready for the next step--a forever home!
To help Jigsaw get acclimated to her new home, the adoption fee includes 1 complimentary training session with the rescue’s trainer.
